Commentary

That's all from here. We have another game coming up shortly in the BPL. Switch tabs to follow that. There's a whole load of cricket going on around the world. Catch up on all of that as well. Do join us for more. Till then, I'm escaping. Ta, ta!

Shakib Al Hasan | Barishal captain: I think we put on a better show today. They were batting really well in the 10th over but we came back well in the 2nd half and that changed the momentum. We did not take unnecessary challenges with the bat. Important to build partnerships and Miraz and Ibrahim did that perfectly. Can't get better than that to get a wicket first ball after winning the toss and bowling first. I think it will be hard work for the bowlers this BPL. Because of the combination we did not play Ibrahim in the first game but there was never a doubt about his ability and we have seen him do well for Afghanistan. Happy for him.

Mehidy Hasan Miraz | Player of the Match: We did very well because wicket is very good. I tried to bowl in the good areas. I love to bat in the top-order all the time. I enjoy batting a lot.

Nurul Hasan | Rangpur captain: Shoaib batted well but we could not give them the required support, we were 10-15 short. The wicket played better in the 2nd innings. We did not get the breakthroughs in the middle overs which cost us the game.

16:50 Local Time, 10:50 GMT, 16:20 IST: Barishal after losing their first game bounce back in style. Shakib who was all anger earlier on is now all smiles. Fine chase from them led by Ibrahim Zadran and Mehidy Hasan Miraz's partnership before Karim Janat and Iftikhar Ahmed finished it off. Rangpur were always behind and just kept staying in there with wickets whenever Barishal threatened to end it quickly. Barishal were reduced to 18/2 but the 84-run third wicket stand snuffed out any Rangpur hopes. Stay tuned for the presentation..
