Hailing from Pretoria, Transvaal, Graeme van Buuren played his initial years of professional cricket in South Africa. A right-handed middle-order batsman and a slow left-arm orthodox bowler by profession, van Buuren made his first-class debut for Northerns, and played his first-ever List A match representing the Titans. None of the debuts were great though, as he was dismissed for a single-digit score in the three-day contest, while departed for a duck in the limited encounter as they lost the match against the Dolphins. Graeme's T20 debut was a hit though, as he scored some quick runs in the lower middle order and Northerns managed to win that encounter by 13 runs against Easterns.

The South African born cricket made his debut for Gloucestershire in 2016, and since then has been an integral part of the squad. He qualifies as a non-overseas player for Gloucestershire as his wife (Hannah) holds a British passport. Not only has the talented player scored a double century in first-class cricket, but in addition has taken nearly 90 wickets in the format with his spin magic. A batting average of 40-plus in first-class cricket proves his quality in the longer version, but when it comes to the shorter versions, he struggles to get going. In the NatWest T20 Blast, Graeme doesn't have a great record, but he does take wickets often and provides much-needed breakthroughs.
