A sturdy and tall fast-bowler, Liam Hurt has come through the Lancashire age-group system. He played for the Academy in 2011 before representing the Under-17 side. By 2013, he was playing for Lancashire’s second XI.
An unsettled Hurt travelled around England as testing with other clubs namely Leicestershire, Gloucestershire and Northants. In 2015, he made his List A debut playing for Leicestershire in a Royal London One-Day Cup encounter against Durham. The pacer was expensive in his first outing and returned with figures - 2/59 in eight overs.
Preston-born Hurt, who also played for MCC’s Young Cricketers in 2015 and 2017, returned back to Lancashire. He played a vital role in the success of Lancashire second XI in 2017. When he penned a contract with the club in October 2017, Hurt said, “It’s a dream come true to sign my first professional contract.”
