Player of the Match

That's all from the first game of the day folks. You can switch tabs and follow the live action of other ongoing games. Ciao for now!

Tom Kohler-Cadmore, PoTM: Bit more relieving for the boys to get off the mark. It's nice to get a couple of good scores. I edged the first ball, was tentative. But I took my chances and put them under pressure. As an opening batsman, you have the licence to capitalize in the powerplay. I feel they had a good total, I luckily got off to a good start. If I had got out, it would have been a different story. As soon as you are down to six runs an over, you can put your foot down. There are ups and downs in T20 cricket, you need to make sure to make the team win on your day.

Moeen Ali: It's always fantastic. We bowled alright in the end, TKC took the game away from them. The wicket was quite slowly, we kept Rovman quiet (in the first innings). We know he can play like that, he has been fantastic. He's comfortable to bat as an opener, that's where he plays well. We need to stick to our plans during bowling, we have been leaking runs. Malan and I need to score some runs for the team, that will give us some confidence.

Rovman Powell: You have to give credit to TKC. The powerplay cost us 95 runs, we did not bowl well. It's good to see Joe Root amongst runs. We were 15-20 runs short, we need to keep working on few areas and need to get better. TKC played really well. It's up to us to do better tomorrow. Games come fast when you are not doing well. Bowlers need to bowl to their strengths. Such is the nature of the sport, that we have 24 hours to get better.

17:15 Local Time, 13:15 GMT, 18:45 IST: Sharjah Warriors finally manage to get a win! And they have won it in style, here in Dubai! Before today's match, they had lost three matches on the trot, but they have won this match quite comprehensively. It was a decent batting performance by the Dubai Capitals who posted a challenging total, but they would have hardly anticipated what was to follow next. Tom Kohler-Cadmore played a magnificent innings as he punished the bowlers right from the word go. The Warriors were ruthless in the powerplay as they smashed 95 runs in 6 overs. The Capitals could never recover from that blow, and the Warriors got him easily as Tom Kohler-Cadmore scored a mind blowing century. All his team mates are happy as they greet him on his way back to the dressing room. Stay around for the presentations..
