Player of the Match

That's it from us for this game. The Gulf Giants have moved to top of the table courtesy their winning run. A high scoring affair it turned out to be and there were boundaries and maximums gallore. Join us tomorrow for the game between Sharjah Warriors and MI Emirates which promises to be another exciting affair. Till then, goodnight and cheers!

James Vince, Winning captain and Man of the Match: It was much different game to the one we played yesterday. At one stage we thought they will go past 200 but our bowlers bowled really well, credit to them for pulling it back. Probably didn't want to play off a maiden but Rehan played a lovely cameo. I got the timing going as I got in and got good support from Erasmus. They bowled well initially and we tried to catch up later on. I didn't need to take too much risks as Rehan played really well initially. That made my life much easier. Cricket is a funny game. Sanchit was the Man of the Match in the previous game but had an off day today, he will learn from this outing. Nice to get off to a good start, we have a couple of days to recover and come back.

Rovman Powell: Uthappa played well at the top of the order as he got 75 plus. We tried to keep the momentum going but today was not out day. We were 20-15 runs short, Jordan and also the young leg spinner bowled well. To be honest, the guys bowled well. It was a good wicket to be honest and I feel we were 15-20 runs short. There are fantastic facilities here, the track here gives the bowlers and the batters a fair chance.

21:35 Local Time, 17:35 GMT, 23:05 IST: A clinical batting display from the visitors have ensured that they keep their winning momentum intact. It was Vince's unbeaten knock of 83 from 56 in the run-chase that didn't let the home side get back into the contest. Initially, Rehan Ahmed got rolling in the Powerplay after Vince played a maiden over from Udana in the first over. Mujeeb did pick up two wickets in the final over of the Powerplay to bring his side back into the contest but a 107-run stand between Vince and Erasmus put their side in the driving seat. Powell effected a run-out and got the wicket of Hetmyer at the fag end but it was all too late. Earlier, the hosts put up a competitive total on the board but they faultered in the slog overs as only 18 came from the last three. Perhaps, that cost the hosts big time.

GLG: 183-4 after 19 overs

18.6 Udana to Wiese, 2 runs, to deep mid-wicket, That's it! A clinical performance with the bat from the Gulf Giants and they win with 6 wickets and an over to spare! Length ball, tucked away through mid-wicket for a couple

18.5 Udana to James Vince, too full outside off, James Vince hits it to sweeper cover for a run, only 2 needed now

18.4 Udana to Wiese, 1 run, full outside off, carved away to sweeper cover for a run

18.3 Udana to Wiese, FOUR, creamed! Half-volley outside off, Wiese leans into it and strokes it through extra cover to find the fence. The visitors only need 4 from 9 now

18.2 Udana to Wiese, no run, no, it's outside leg! Udana bowls a fullish ball from over the wicket around leg stump, Wiese tries to hit it across but misses to get hit on the pads. The replay rolls in and as expected, the ball has pitched outside leg

Given LBW but seems to have pitched outside leg. Wiese takes the review straightaway! Is it pitching in line?

18.1 Udana to James Vince, 1 run, very full ball outside off, James Vince jams it down to long-off for an easy run. They can do it singles from here

Isuru Udana [3.0-1-27-0] is back into the attack

9 needed from 12, can the home side do something spectacular to turn the tide in their favour?

GLG: 174-4 after 18 overs

17.6 Powell to Wiese, no run, good length ball on middle and leg, Wiese can only bunt it back to the bowler

17.5 Powell to James Vince, 1 run, short ball, pulled away hard towards deep mid-wicket to turn strike over. 9 needed from 13 now

17.4 Powell to James Vince, 2 runs, good presence of mind! He knows that the fielders are manning the fence in the deep and he tucks it away with soft hands in front of square leg, two runs taken

17.3 Powell to James Vince, 2 runs, James Vince stays calm as he plays the length ball with soft hands through square leg and comes back easily for the second

17.2 Powell to Wiese, leg byes, 1 run, length ball down the leg side, Wiese tries to tuck it away but the ball deflects off his pads to the off-side, a leg bye taken

David Wiese, right handed bat, comes to the crease

17.1 Powell to Hetmyer, out Caught by Root!! Hetmyer holes out as he tried to finish the game early! Is it too late for the hosts? Fuller length ball, well outside off, Hetmyer has to reach out to it and that means he gets it off the toe-end towards long-on where Root settles under it with ease. The Gulfs need 15 from 17 balls. Hetmyer c Root b Powell 6(5) [4s-1]
