Adelaide Strikers Women vs Brisbane Heat Women, Challenger
Adelaide Strikers Women won by 6 wkts
So, it's Sydney Sixers vs Adelaide Strikers for the all important final on Saturday at the North Sydney Oval, Sydney. Should be a cracker. Do remember to join us for that one. Until then, cheers and goodbye!!
Bridget Patterson | Player of the Match: Our bowling has been outstanding throughout. Nice to contribute in this crucial moment for the team. Glad to get this huge crowd here tonight, thanks to everyone who made it. Hopefully we will get a few of them in Sydney as well. I was nervous at the end, but I knew Maddy (Madeline Penna) was there at the other end. If necessary she can clear the ropes. Nice to make the finals two years in a row, it should be a good game and hopefully we can go one better this time.
21:46 Local Time, 11:16 GMT, 16:46 IST: Brisbane Heat only have themselves to blame here. Dropped at least 4 catches and missed a stumping opportunity. All of that while defending a not so challenging total and against a quality side like the Strikers. Laura Wolvaardt played the anchor role right from the onset and both Dottin and Patterson chipped in with game-changing knocks whilst striking in excess of 170. The surface looked good for batting and had decent skid under lights, but that's no reason for the shabby fielding from the Heat who couldn't quite seize on the crunch moments.
19.4 Amelia Kerr to Madeline Penna, FOUR, skips down the pitch and hammers the drive past the diving cover fielder. The fielder in the deep puts in a dive but ball wins the race. All over. Adelaide Strikers win by 6 wickets and storm into the finals
Just one hit away now
19.3 Amelia Kerr to Madeline Penna, FOUR, nice and juicy lebreak outside off, Penna stood still and delayed her cut to place it in the gap between cover and backward point. Nailed it in the gap and the timing took care of the rest
19.2 Amelia Kerr to Bridget Patterson, 1 run, advances and forces the short and flat delivery to extra cover for a quick single
19.1 Amelia Kerr to Madeline Penna, 1 run, chases a quicker delivery outside off and the outside edge lands falls short of the fielder at short third to her left
Amelia Kerr [3.0-0-28-1] is back into the attack

18.6 Sippel to Bridget Patterson, SIX, that's outta here. The game-changing maximum. Bridget Patterson went deep inside the crease to pick the slower full delivery and made excellent contact on the whip pull for a 63-metre maximum over square leg. The crowd are absolutely loving the ebbs and flows of this game
18.5 Sippel to Madeline Penna, 1 run, slower length delivery outside off, Penna heaves and drags it off the bottom edge towards deep mid-wicket
18.4 Sippel to Bridget Patterson, 1 run, digs it short outside off, Patterson swivels and mistimes the pull to the right of deep square
18.3 Sippel to Bridget Patterson, FOUR, can't keep bowling slower balls on every occasion. Patterson went deep inside the crease, waited for the slower one outside off and she's absolutely smashed one over square leg for a boundary
18.2 Sippel to Madeline Penna, leg byes, 1 run, walks across and looks to swipe one over square leg but gets defeated by lack of pace yet again. Gets knocked on the thigh pad and they rush through for a quick single
18.1 Sippel to Madeline Penna, no run, slower and wider of off, Penna looks to steer and gets beaten for lack of pace
18.1 Sippel to Madeline Penna, wide, and that will help the Strikers. Full delivery bowled slow and well wide of off as Penna swings and misses
