Rashid Khan: We had to keep things simple. I thought 140+ was a good score. I knew that it'd be tough to score. It was a brilliant all-round effort. The way he (Rassie) played, you need such innings. His role in the team is very important. He'll be crucial in this tournament. He (Linde) is performing from the first game. He can bowl in the powerplay, outside the powerplay and that makes my job easier. We need to keep improving and move forward. We have to believe in our skills. With the bowling unit we have, we feel like we can defend any total. We'll keep learning and take the positives. This was a crucial win for us.
Jos Buttler | Player of the Match: Very disappointed. Got to a position where we were in the game but unfortunately got out. Facing Archer is always a great challenge. He's got plenty more levels to go. It's great for England for him to be back. It's not the easiest but that's the challenge - you need to try and adapt. It was definitely slow. We had a discussion if we could chase 40-45 runs in the last five overs. We got there, we kept planning. You're desperate to get your team home, disappointed in the end.
David Miller: 142 - it's a competitive total here but our bowlers bowled really well. I though they were below-par. Losing couple of wickets in the powerplay didn't help. Turning point (Buttler's wicket), we put a nice partnership. It's quite difficult to score boundaries here in Paarl. Unfortunately I got out, disappointing. We have a quick turnaround. If we win, we are back in the hunt. We need to put the pieces together. We need a few more things going and help each other out. We'd like to string a few more partnerships. You are always closer than you think - got to keep that in mind.
17:01 Local Time, 15:01 GMT, 20:31 IST: Impressive performance from the MICT bowlers to defend a below-par score. Linde set the tone upfront by picking back-to-back wickets in the third over of the innings. Paarl Royals continued to lose wickets and were reduced to 30/4 in the seventh over. That's when the two experienced Royals batters - Buttler and Miller - joined hands. They steadied the ship somewhat with a fifty partnership for the fifth wicket. Their aim was take it deep and then go berserk towards the end. After losing Miller to Rabada, Buttler significantly upped the ante. He looked threatening to take his side home single-handedly but he fell to his fellow countryman in the penultimate over. Jofra Archer, who had conceded 27 runs in his three overs, bowled a terrific 19th over - nipped out the danger man and conceded just 4 runs. Odean Smith was summoned to bowl the final over and he did a fine job for the visitors. Not a single six was hit in the second innings!
