That's all from our side from this game. You can switch tabs and follow the live coverage of other ongoing matches. Ciao for now!
Markram, Player of the Match: It wasn't as convincing a win, but it makes for good watching at the end of the day. Happy to get the win anyway. You need to give yourself some time on such wickets. We'll take some learning from this and not repeat the mistakes. The bowlers are showing a lot of character, it's good to see that. Hopefully they'll continue. Just looking to squeeze a few overs here and there, hopefully it'll go alright. You want such tough situations so it's nice to have those guys in the team (Jansen and Stubbs), it was nice they got us over the line tonight.
Miller: It's about attitude at the end of the day, we didn't score enough runs. But we fought well in the middle overs. It's difficult in T20s when you lose wickets. But I think the guys have done well, but today we were not good enough. The pitch did speed up slightly, but it was slower in the afternoon. We need to bring a better attitude on Saturday. Going to be a big weekend for us.
20:55 Local Time, 18:55 GMT, 00:25 IST: That's a victory for Sunrisers Eastern Cape as they get over the line by 5 wickets. Electing to bowl first was the right call by the Sunrisers and their bowlers made sure to make that decision count. They kept taking wickets at regular intervals and never allowed the opposition batters settle at the crease. Due to their wily bowling, the Paarl Royals could only manage to post a mediocre total of 127/7. Such a total was never going to challenge Eastern Cape, and their openers got them off to a brisk start. Ngidi got a couple of wickets in quick succession following the opening partnership, but Markram and Jordan Hermann steadied the ship thereafter. However, Fortuin got three wickets in an over and kept the game alive. But Jansen and Stubbs kept their cool and finished things off in style! Sunrisers as a result of this win, jump to the number second spot. Stay around for the presentations..
18.2 Codi Yusuf to Marco Jansen, SIX, Marco Jansen hits the winning runs! Goes down on his knee and smokes this over long-on as the ball goes the distance. That's "game, set, match," says Kevin Pietersen on air..
18.1 Codi Yusuf to Marco Jansen, FOUR, on a length around off, Marco Jansen smashes it past the fielder at mid-off and Sunrisers are only 3 runs away from victory
Equation: Sunrisers Eastern Cape need 7 runs in 12 balls
SEC: 121-5 after 18 overs
17.6 Evan Jones to Tristan Stubbs, 2 runs, quite a productive over for the Sunrisers. Evan Jones ends it with a short ball and Tristan Stubbs swivel-pulls this to fine leg for a couple of runs
17.5 Evan Jones to Marco Jansen, 1 run, back of a length around middle and leg, worked through the leg-side
17.4 Evan Jones to Tristan Stubbs, 1 run, back of a length around middle and leg, Tristan Stubbs clips it through the on-side for a single
17.3 Evan Jones to Tristan Stubbs, SIX, that should ease the nerves in the Sunrisers camp! Tristan Stubbs hits a much needed maximum. Was banged in short by Evan Jones and Tristan Stubbs backs away and slams it to long-on. Jason Roy misjudges it near the boundary, and the ball just sails over him. Could have been a catch if he was much closer to the boundary
17.2 Evan Jones to Tristan Stubbs, 2 runs, slower delivery on middle and leg, dips in front of the batter, Tristan Stubbs clips it through square leg for a couple of runs
17.1 Evan Jones to Marco Jansen, 1 run, pitched up by Evan Jones around off, Marco Jansen heaves it to long-on for one
Getting much closer than we'd anticipated. Rooting for a Super over, anyone?
