Player of the Match

So Pretoria Capitals get their first taste of defeat in the tournament after two straight wins. These two teams will meet each other again tomorrow. Should be great fun if it's anything like it was here. For now, it's goodbye!

Faf: Love a tight one. We're either getting hammered or it's a close game. Today looked a lot better. 100 percent the nature of the pitch (intent at the start). Thought 170 was par. We know the wicket plays better in the evening. Needed one just for the boys to get their chests out. Great crowd - reminded me of international games. Thank you everyone, it was awesome.

du Plooy, Player of the Match: Was about assessing conditions as quick as possible. Faf and Reeza got us off to a great start. Made our job easier. I just try to stick to what my game is and that is to bring good intent to the crease. They bowled brilliantly up front; luckily we got momentum at the back end. Thought we were 10 runs light. Will be up for tomorrow.

Parnell: Just unforced errors really. Still feel they were 15 runs short. But we made couple of silly errors. Pitch was slow early on but got better under lights. We probably played good cricket for most of the match. Made errors at crucial stages.

21:25 Local Time, 19:25 GMT, 00:55 IST: What a game we've had at the Wanderers. And it's the Super Kings who prevail in front of their home crowd. There were many momentum shifts during the chase, but the defining performances came through from Phangiso, Joseph and Shepherd to turn it in favour of the hosts. Phangiso initiallly turned the tide after a flying start from Philip Salt. He struck thrice in his first 13 balls, got hammered for three straight sixes from Neesham in his final over, but struck back to dismiss him. And then it was left to the two men from the Caribbean to clinch it at the death. Shepherd was particularly brilliant in his execution of the wide slower balls in that final over to defend 10 runs.

PC: 162-10 after 20 overs

19.6 Shepherd to Nortje, out Caught by Verreynne!! Shepherd has done it! Super Kings win! He sticks to his slower length ball wide of off, Nortje tries flat-batting it down the ground but only manages a toe-edge to the keeper. A thrilling win for Joburg in front of their home crowd. Nortje c Verreynne b Shepherd 0(1)

Shepherd to Nortje, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

19.5 Shepherd to Adil Rashid, out Caught by du Plessis!! A miscue from Rashid and Faf takes a brilliant catch running across at long-off! Another slower length ball outside off, Rashid swings hard and slices it in the air off the outside half. And Faf charges across to his right to grab it. They now need a six off the last ball to take it to a Super Over. Adil Rashid c du Plessis b Shepherd 8(5) [6s-1]

Shepherd to Adil Rashid, THATS OUT!! Caught!!

19.4 Shepherd to Adil Rashid, 2 runs, another leg-cutter that's very wide outside off, Rashid steps across, slashes hard and slices it over extra cover. No timing on it and sweeper cover will cut it off

19.3 Shepherd to Adil Rashid, no run, yes he does. And Rashid misses. Slower leg-cutter outside off, loops up off a length, Rashid slashes hard but is beaten by the bounce

Both third man and fine leg in the ring. Will he continue with his slower balls

19.2 Shepherd to Parnell, 1 run, slower length ball into the pads, Parnell looks to swing it away but drags it off the bottom edge to short fine

19.1 Shepherd to Parnell, no run, short into the body as Parnell backs away. He looks to pull but misses. Was through the shot early with Shepherd taking pace off

Romario Shepherd [3.0-0-25-0] is back into the attack

Final over, 10 needed

PC: 159-8 after 19 overs

18.6 Alzarri Joseph to Adil Rashid, SIX, Adil Rashid, you beauty! It's a slower length ball slanted into the body as he backs away, but he still swings it over long-on

18.5 Alzarri Joseph to Adil Rashid, no run, full delivery just outside off, Rashid swings and misses

Adil Rashid, right handed bat, comes to the crease

18.4 Alzarri Joseph to Parnell, out Migael Pretorius Run Out!! Pretorius is caught ball-watching and fails to realise that Parnell is right next to him at the non-striker's end. Parnell's shouting to catch his attention but fails to do so until it's too late. He crunched this full ball to mid-off and set off immediately. Pretorius eventually sacrifices himself. Parnell's livid. Migael Pretorius run out (du Plessis/Verreynne) 5(3)
