Commentary

Back-to-back double header days and this tournament is nicely poised. Cape Town and Pretoria look strong, so do Durban and to some extent the Royals from Paarl. Work to do for the Joburg Super Kings and the Sunrisers. We'll be back tomorrow with Durban taking on Paarl at the Kingsmead. Do join us for all the action. For now, cheers and bye..

Kagiso Rabada | Player of the Match - Good way to start, got early wickets, kept it as simple as possible and put them under pressure. The spinners kept getting wickets and made things easy for us. Lovely to play at Newlands, the crowd have been fantastic, almost every game has been a sell-out. I wish I could make bowling look as easy as Joff (Archer), Olly Stone was slightly unlucky to have missed out today.

Rashid Khan | Winning captain - Amazing game, the way we bowled, KG, Linde and Waqar - a good win for us. We have played together in a Test match for AFG, he (Waqar) has done well in the past and has the ability, he's ready to go and do well, happy for him. He had the control in the middle overs. Linde, the way he bowled in the batting PP was superb, he and KG set the platform for us. It's not easy to bowl 3 overs in the powerplay for a spinner, but he always wanted to do it for us. I think we have the best bowling unit, so many options and it makes a captain's task harder. We also have depth in the batting line-up, we saw it in the last game, it's just a matter of time before they step-up and take the responsibility. The crowd has been great, they've come out to support us in large numbers over three games, I hope  you come for the rest of the games as well.

Faf du Plessis Losing captain - T20 cricket is like a lottery, you can ride the momentum at times, two bad days, we will have to go back to Joburg and start over again. It could be a matter of confidence (on the struggling batting unit), you have 3 games from 4 days and it could be enough time to go back and work out (during the upcoming break). The pitch was slow and slightly worn out, their 3 spinners were certainly perfect for the conditions. We didn't have that luxury with our main spinner, Maheesh Theekshana, expected only later this week. We knew it (about his unavailability for 3 matches), would have been nice to win 2 on the road, but it's good to be going back home.

20:41 Local Time A convincing win for MICT, a win which was never in doubt after that dazzling performance from their bowlers earlier in the evening, probably not able to win with the bonus point will pinch them a bit, but they do complete their second win out of 3 home games. Dewald Brevis led the chase with a sublime 42 and Sam Curran finished it off in some style, but van der Dussen struggled and that possibly cost them one point. The Super Kings bowlers toiled hard, but they had been let down by their batters once again. They'll hope that going back to the Wanderers might bring about a change in luck. Presentations coming up shortly..

16.2 Shepherd to Sam Curran, FOUR, MICT win by 7 wickets, back of a length and well wide of off, Curran climbs into the cut and hoists it over cover

16.1 Shepherd to Sam Curran, no run, fuller length delivery outside off, Curran stays leg-side and mistimes the drive back at the bowler

With 4 runs needed to win, they've taken a strategic break, we have seen this before

MICT: 103-3 after 16 overs

15.6George Garton to Sam Curran, 1 run, no bonus point win for MICT tonight, they'll have to settle for 4 points only, will that cost them in the end analysis? That's for later, short and at the stumps, pulled past square leg for a single

A boundary four will do now

15.6 George Garton to Sam Curran, wide, Garton tries the bouncer and sends it sailing over Curran, left alone and it's a wide

Sam Curran needs to hit a six for the bonus point now

15.5 George Garton to van der Dussen, 1 run, short of a good length and just outside off, van der Dussen swivels across on the pull and gets an under-edge on the pull, onto the pad and rolled to the off-side

6 needed off 2 balls - Garton, from round the wicket

15.4 George Garton to Sam Curran, 1 run, short of a good length and just outside off - Curran backs away and slaps it to mid-off, on the bounce to the fielder

15.3 George Garton to Sam Curran, no run, back of a length and holding its line around middle, Curran backs away and then tries to dab it past the keeper, misses it completely

15.2 George Garton to van der Dussen, 1 run, Garton shortens the length and angles one across the right-hander, van der Dussen comes down the pitch on a hack, gets an inside edge past the leg-stump for a single

15.1 George Garton to Sam Curran, 1 run, back of a length and well wide of off, steered towards short third man for a single

George Garton [1.0-0-7-0] is back into the attack

9 needed to win, 9 needed off 6 balls for the bonus point win
