Player of the Match

The Trinidad leg of the 2022 CPL ends with a one-run loss for the hosts. We now have a couple of days off, before the action shifts to Guyana. Join us on Wednesday when the table toppers Barbados Royals take on the reigning champions - the Patriots, in the morning game. Goodbye for now!

Kieron Pollard: We would have looked for one of those close fours to be a six. But we didn't lose by one run, I've seen enough cricket to know that. We were very indisciplined in the field, and that ended us costing the team. We bowled well to restrict them to 147, our spinners did well in the middle overs to pull things back or we were looking at a 160 plus total. But we are dissapointed with this result, we've had an up and down season, need to make amends in Guyana. Thanks to the crowd for supporting us.

Faf du Plessis: Great game of cricket. That last over, the last two sixes but the message was 'stay behind the line and don't bowl a wide.' Wet ball, I wasn't backing bowling yorkers to Dre Russ. He (Primus) was really good before that over. You just got to go with your gut. It's a great crowd. Some of the boys were overwhelmed. Great crowd, they were loud as well, well done to the people. (On Johnson Charles) What a season he's having. When players go through purple patch, you have make it count and that's what he's doing. He's putting us in potions from where we can win.

Roston Chase | Player of the Match: We didn't get the best start, the guys really caught some momentum. I tried to put the ball in the right areas. The wicket was gripping a bit and it worked for me. From the outset, we thought 150 would be a challenging score for TKR. We fell short but we were close. Gave a good start, the boys backed it up. I tried to give it a rip and it worked out. My motivation was to silence them (Trinbago fans).

23:03 Local Time, 03:03 GMT, 08:33 IST: The scorecard makes this game look much closer than it actually was, where in reality the Kings were in control for the majority of this second innings. The trick to bowl off spin to the left-handed top heavy TKR side paid dividends, as Roston Chase scalped Munro, Pooran and Julien inside the powerplay. The TKR skipper Pollard walked out and played a few attacking shots, as he stitched a 54-run partnership with Seifert. However, he fell immediately after drinks to Alzarri Joseph, who also dismissed Akeal Hosein. In the end, Sunil Narine and Andre Russell swung their willows, but it was a bit too late for TKR to salvage this game. Perhaps Seifert could have played more positively, perhaps their running between the wickets could have been better, perhaps they should have countered Chase better. A lot of questions for TKR to answer who lose on home turf. SLK can party into the night in Trinidad as they have jumped into second place with the league stages reaching its final leg. Stick around for the presentations.

TKR: 146-6 after 20 overs

19.6 Primus to Russell, SIX, fuller length, half volley and Russell swings for the hills. Another six over deep mid-wicket but that's not enough for TKR. They lose by one run, SLK leapfrog them onto second place.

19.5Primus to Russell, SIX, back of a length on off, Russell connects well with his big slog to easily clear deep mid-wicket. Spoils the economy of Roshon Primus but the game is still in his control if he doesn't give an extra!

19.4 Primus to Russell, FOUR, length ball on off, Russell gets an inside edge that runs past his stumps to the fine leg boundary. No wides, no no balls and SLK win this from here.

19.3 Primus to Narine, 1 run, wide yorker again, Narine shuffles closer and slices this just short of the forward rushing deep point fielder

19.3 Primus to Narine, wide, pace off very wide outside off. Narine shuffles closer but still can't reach it

19.2 Primus to Narine, no run, superb wide yorker from Roshon Primus. Narine is late trying to get his bat down and this one passes to the keeper for a dot ball

SLK review for caught behind. No bat though. Narine bats on

19.2 Primus to Narine, wide, full outside off, the angle however takes the ball past the wide line

19.1 Primus to Russell, 1 run, length ball on off, Russell cuts it into the ground over the bowler's head for just a single

TKR: 126-6 after 19 overs

18.6 Alzarri Joseph to Narine, FOUR, boundary and that should be the confidence boost to take to the final over. Short pitched on off, slapped over the infield to the left of sweeper cover for four! 22 needed off the final 6 now

18.5 Alzarri Joseph to Narine, no run, Alzarri Joseph nails the yorker again. This one goes between the legs of Narine who had shuffled away. A priceless dot ball!

18.4 Alzarri Joseph to Russell, 1 run, perfect yorker from Alzarri. Russell drives hard to long-off

18.3 Alzarri Joseph to Narine, 1 run, full and follows Narine who shuffled away. He pushes it uppishly down the ground towards long-on. TKR still dealing in singles though

18.2 Alzarri Joseph to Russell, 1 run, full outside off, Russell slices his big drive but it falls fractionally short of sweeper cover. Just a single

18.1 Alzarri Joseph to Narine, 1 run, half volley from Alzarri Joseph. Narine swings this big but gets only elevation. Falls safely behind the bowler's head as long-on covers it
